We are excited to begin the 2023-2024 school year with you and your child. During the summer, we have been busy preparing the WVU Nursery School to open our doors. While new paint and an indoor/outdoor clean-up continue to be in progress, we look forward to filling the spaces with children and creating a living, loving, and learning classroom together.
At the WVU Nursery School, we will be busy engaging in art and music experiences, reading, creating friendships, and exploring the environment around us. The Nursery School website will be a space to find monthly updates, educational milestones, photos from class, and links to early childhood education resources.
In addition to both physically and virtually preparing a space, we have been busy working with West Virginia University College of Applied Human Science and other university faculty to provide field placement experiences at the WVU Nursery School. These experiences provide opportunities to connect coursework in a real-world setting.
A flurry of activity has been happening on our end. We also know that you have been busy preparing at home. This might include talking about school, reading about school, or picking out a favorite outfit for the first day. While such conversations and preparation might also create some butterflies, they are normal for both the children and the families. We hope that the staggered entry days create an opportunity to reduce nervousness by providing an opportunity to meet the Nursery School team and see the physical space. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns.
We are dedicated to ensuring you and your child have the best experience at the WVU Nursery School and look forward to welcoming you. We are ready to nurture your child and cultivate the wonder within! Let the adventure begin!
Here’s to a great year!
